Plot Summary
Meet Darius Hall, a young and horrifically overweight basketball player for the ABL’s Lexington Cluckers with dreams of earning an NBA contract. When his coach benches him for being overweight, Darius' league hopes are put in jeopardy. His obstacle? A secret organization stopping at nothing to sabotage his weight loss. One of my favorite projects this year! The cinematography was immaculate, featuring many well-shot action sequences and high-energy moments. Druski's performances as Darius Hall were jaw-dropping. He deserves an Oscar for that 12-minute monologue after the climax. Although the laughs are what people mostly talk about with this movie (for good reason), I was mostly captured by the emotional scenes that show Darius's gentle side. I admit I cried during the credits while "Back That Azz Up" by Juvenile played. Bravo to the directors.
